Description

Transmission Capital Partners was declared the preferred bidder for the Rampion offshore transmission licence on 29th August 2019 and established TC Rampion OFTO Plc as a special purpose company to take ownership of the transmission assets and hold the transmission licence.

The 400MW offshore wind farm is located 13km off the coast of Worthing in West Sussex. The OFTO assets include the offshore substation platform, two 150kV export cables of which 16km is offshore, and 26km onshore and the onshore substation at Twineham. This connects to the National Grid at the adjacent Bolney 400kV substation in West Sussex. The export cables come onshore at Lancing, between Brighton and Worthing. The project is renowned for being a very prominent sight from Brighton’s famous seafront.

The project is expected to be acquired in Q4 2021 with an estimated transfer value of £279m.
